Gun'Drak

Instance Summary

Gun'Drak is an instance which contains the final boss for the Ice Trolls. It is a 5-man instance meant for mid-level players.

This instance will show the Ice Trolls in all their glory, and teach us why they have been so successful against the Scourge. The story that emerges in the completely constructed zone, Zul'Drak, and the instance at the end of that zone, Gundrak, is that the Trolls worship various animal Gods, like the rest of the Troll races. They have began sacrificing to these gods to give them the power to fight the Scourge. The whole zone is recognisable as Troll, but with a twist to it that is true to the Ice Troll culture.

• Less-rabi - Bring several interrupters, a mage is best for counterspelling at ~35%. Burn him as fast as possible, CS the cast at 35%, and then kill him quickly and you win. He gains 1% casting speed for every 1% health lost.
• Share The Love - Read the WoWHead page.
• Snakes. Why'd It Have To Be Snakes? - Clear the next room, pull the boss, and tank him in the back. Kill or pickup the adds as they come in.
• What the Eck? - Stand in front of the extra boss long enough to get hit and obtain the Eck Residue debuff. Immunities and such will remove it, just get healed through it. Then go kill the last boss!

This is the Drakkari capital, the only large city in Zul’Drak and the home to the Drakkari Frost King. It is a massive place, with thick walls, tall guard towers and heavy gates. Inside, the buildings are tiered and covered in steps, and wind about one another like a nest of small animals, each fitting into the next. The architecture here is almost identical to that of Zuldazar, in the South Seas.

The Drakkari are crude and violent, but there is a modicum of organization in the city. Women and whelps handle most of the cleaning, food preparation and clothing needs. Those unfit for battle do manual labor or simple crafts. Many of the buildings have rough carvings along their walls, and war trophies are interspersed with furs. Chores are handled quickly and efficiently to make time for drinking, eating and combat.

Warriors fight frequently, from mere wrestling matches to armed death duels, and brawls occur at every meal. Rather than stop this, the Frost King uses these conflicts to gauge the strength of his warriors, selecting the victors for favored missions. Of course, the Drakkari do not welcome visitors — at least, not as guests. Sometimes, a warrior who has demonstrated his strength may be invited to dine with the Drakkari and his safety is then guaranteed until the end of the meal. After that, however, he may find himself a target of the assembled tribes.

Trolls are unpredictable, though, so an adventurer attempting this tactic may find himself part of the meal. The best way to enter Gundrak is by slipping in unnoticed. Sometimes the Drakkari are too busy fighting and drinking to look down

Slad'ran

Abilities: Poison Nova Powerful Bite Venom Bolt Strategy: Coming Soon! Heroic: Slad'ran's physical attacks strike for roughly 5k damage. He casts Venom Bolt on a regular basis, however the ability's damage is increased to around 5.5k. Roughly every 30 seconds, Slad'ran casts Poison Nova. This move now hits for around 7k, with a 2k per tick debuff. It MUST be out-ranged, or it will cause your healer a massive headache. Throughout the fight, snakes fall from the ceiling. These snakes do little damage (~300 on cloth), but sometimes "constrict" a player, removing them from the fight for a few seconds. There are many, many snakes, and they have a decent amount of health, making their death seem like a waste of time. To easily beat this boss on heroic, he can be tanked in the doorway to the room with all healers and ranged DPS far back in the water. This allows them to avoid getting hit by the snakes or poison nova. Moorabi

Abilities: Determined Gore Determined Stab Mojo Frenzy Numbing Roar Transformation Strategy: Interrupt his cast to transform into a mammoth. If you are successful at doing this for the entire fight, you will earn Less-Rabi. Drakkari

Abilities: Emerge Emerge Summon Mighty Blow Strategy: This boss splits off into an elemental after a certain percentage of health is lost. The elemental has a new agro table, and spits out mojo puddles that damage anyone standing in them. The elemtanl also targets someone and charges them, damaging anyone in his path. After the elemental loses some health, he will go back into the stone boss, with agro reset again. This continues for the duration of the fight. Gal'darah

Abilities: Enrage Impaling Charge Puncture Stampede Stomp Whirling Slash Strategy: Gal'darah will summon rhinos to charge and damage party members throughout the fight. During the first phase, casters should stay at range and spread out and melee should avoid the Whirling Slash. The second phase begins when he transforms into a rhino. During this phase, he will impale a target which will do ~10k damage. Staying close enough to the boss so that he does not need to charge you to impale you is important, as he can charge and impale your healer, doing more damage than they have health. Eck the Ferocious

Abilities: Eck Spring Eck Spit Eck Bite Eck Berserk Strategy: Eck is only available to fight in heroic mode. You can reach his room by taking the passage at the back of Moorabi's room. Eck should be tanked facing away from the group, and all dps should be standing close to the back of the boss.
