PvE
GC - Instance saving - Source

Yes, we totally regret this problem (ninja instance saving). We are trying to get a fix in to give you some sort of notification.

Deathknights
Killing Machine still 50 percent proc? - Source

Killing Machine is a "ppm" now or a proc per minute. That means it will proc 5 times a minute with 5 ranks, depending on your weapon speed. We generally use ppm when we do not want players to gravitate towards faster weapons with the sole purpose of improving proc rates.

Killing Machine now is based on autoattack hits, not crits. Overall the random element will decrease, but it won't greatly benefit faster weapons. It will still benefit dual wield, just not as much.

Vampiric Blood - OP? - Source

Vampiric Blood is 15% health and 35% healing in 3.0.8.

GC: Why are fast weapons bad? - Source

Fast weapons aren't bad. DKs with a certain DW build were favoring fast weapons at the expense of everything else in order to trigger procs. We were concerned that the "right way" to play a DK would be to always DW with two fast weapons. Weapon speed should not be the only, or probably even the major factor when looking at gear. That should be an option but it was headed for being the only option.

Titansteel defender/deflector - Source

The two-handed Blacksmithing tanking weapons are not going to be implemented.

Indeed, we did not want to stick DKs with these weapons forever, nor did we want to start itemizing 2H tanking weapons forever. DKs were designed to tank with 2H dps weapons.

The new sigil and runeforge enchant should help players with low defense.

Naxxramas and World Latency Fixes - Source

For the last several weeks, our players have been experiencing periodic latency in both outdoor Northrend areas and Naxxramas, and we wanted to provide you with several updates on what we're doing to resolve these issues. As many players have discovered, the outdoor Northrend latency has been tied to activity in Wintergrasp. We are actively working on a server-side fix that should address the high latency experienced in the outdoor world when Wintergrasp is active. This fix is currently in testing on internal test realms and we anticipate that we'll be able to push it to live realms in the near future. Concerning Naxxramas, optimizations are being made that will address both the latency and disconnection issues affecting players while in that zone. These optimizations will be included with the next minor content patch.

PvP
New Dispel Resistance mechanic - Source

The general rule of thumb is that helpful spells (e.g. buffs) and dots are protected. Other offensive spells (e.g. crowd controls) are not.

We are definitely interested on hearing feedback on this implementation. We like the basic mechanic of casting and dispelling spells, but I think many players agreed that the system beyond that needed an overhaul. I am sure many players have their own ideas on how this should have worked, because a lot of them have been pitched to us.

Feel free to discuss dispel and dispel resistance here rather than having the conversation across multiple threads.

NOTE: The dispel spells themselves have not changed. Offensive spells that do no damage (say Polymorph) will just be easier to dispel now. They will not benefit from the talents that make dispels harder.

New Update for Arenas - Source

In order to prevent players from attempting to reach a no decision in Arenas, and to ensure that all Arena matches are completed in a reasonable time frame, a 45 minute time limit has been added to Arena matches. At the end of this time limit if no team has achieved victory, both teams will lose 16 arena rating points. Please be aware that this loss in rating is not currently displaying properly and will instead show as a draw for both teams. This display issue will be addressed in a future update.

Some allarming issues not mentioned for patch - Source

We have a solution for Mirror Image Polymorph spam.

There is a technical problem with adding spell pen to pets. As I've mentioned a couple of times, the entire system of how pets inherit stats (and buffs) needs to be overhauled and we are working on that now. Most pets do have hit I believe.

We fixed a bug in 3.0.8 where the racial spell hit bonus was applied after the other modifiers were added, meaning that you could not cap yourself above it. Now if you really want to hit races with certain spells you can.

Warriors
[Sudden Death] ... FAIL - Source

Our plan is to make Arms less RNG based, which involves making Sudden Death not so bursty. We also would like to decrease the amount of damage done by Deep Wounds. This should help bring Fury dps down a little (remember they got too small buffs with the TG change and Whirlwhind glyph), but we will need to buff Arms sustained damage accordingly. Slam is one possible candidate.

@GC.. Why nerf Deep Wounds? - Source

Deep Wounds is causing too high a percent of damage for Fury and Arms, 20 or 30% of total damage on some fights, and often above white attacks. Since it is unmitigated damage we are eventually going to have balance problems here if we don't already.

Fury is slightly high in PvE, or definitely will be after these TOO [sic] changes. Arms is too low in PvE, which is why I said we wanted to buff them.

We like Deep Wounds' position in the tree. We're fine letting all warriors reach it. It's just too good.

Talents
08/01 Hotfix: Talent Issue - Source

During the transition from patch 2.4.3 to 3.0.3 the following talents were not unlearned properly by some players, resulting in those players still gaining the benefits despite the talents no longer existing in the talent trees. As a result, we've pushed a hotfix which has corrected this matter and affected players will no longer receive credit for having these talents.
  • Warlock: Improved Lash of Pain
  • Warlock: Fel Stamina
  • Shaman: Totemic Mastery
  • Shaman: Improved Lightning Shield (Rank 3)
  • Paladin: Precision
  • Rogue: Fist Weapon Specialization
  • Priest: Shadow Focus (Ranks 4 and 5)
